Waitlist & Account Information: When you join our waitlist or create an account, we collect your name, email address, and — for Pro users — your force or academy affiliation and role.
Training & Performance Data (Pro): For officers and trainees using the Pro version, we record investigation decisions, case outcomes, CPD progress, procedural adherence scoring, and debrief notes so that training sergeants and academy directors can review performance.
Gameplay Data (Standard): For consumer users, we record case progress, choices made during investigations, solve times, accuracy, and multiplayer session state.
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with our service, including IP addresses, browser type, device type, and pages visited.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Detective Simulator service
- To deliver training reports, CPD certification logs, and performance feedback (Pro)
- To enable multiplayer matchmaking and cooperative gameplay (Standard)
- To improve our AI case generation and misdirection engine
- To respond to your enquiries and support requests
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Law Enforcement Data
The Pro version processes data about serving police officers and trainees. We treat this data with heightened care:
- Performance and training records are stored with organisation-level isolation — your force cannot see another force's data, and individual officer records are only visible to authorised instructors within your force
- We align with College of Policing standards and UK policing data handling conventions
- Officer-level performance data is used solely for the stated training purpose and is not used for AI training, marketing, or shared with third parties
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use row-level security to isolate organisation and user data. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers who assist in operating our platform (e.g. hosting, AI agents, email delivery)
- Your employing force or academy, for Pro training performance data, as contracted
- Law enforcement, only when compelled by law

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Data portability
Pro users: some training and accreditation records may be retained by your employing force under its own retention policies, independent of our platform.

9. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days, subject to any contractual retention obligations with your employing force for Pro accounts.
